Michael Corb, AIA
Senior Vice President, Education Practice Leader, CannonDesign
When physical space ignites a student’s curiosity, the learning potential is limitless. That’s Michael’s philosophy on designing to inspire a generation of lifelong learners. With experience across PK-12 and higher education, Michael’s work is recognized for breaking typology norms and pioneering concepts that are shaping the future of educational design. As a project leader, he guides clients through an inclusive process of exploration focused on uncovering solutions that advance their missions and supercharge outcomes. He is constantly looking outside the boundaries of the education industry for design inspiration — believing the best ideas can come from anywhere. Why not design elementary schools more like children’s museums? Or academic buildings more like tech startups? He’s partnered with clients to do both, and the results have been incredible.
Anne Fullenkamp, Associate AIA, LEED AP, MBA
Senior Director of Creative Experiences, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
As the Senior Director of Creative Experiences at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Anne fuses incredible arts and professional design skills to help the Museum, its community partners, local schools and non-profits activate informal learning via creative design. She is deeply versed in interactive experiences, universal design strategies, museum operations, art, experiential and exhibit design, informal learning environments and more.
Timothy Eiler
Principal, Ehrman Crest Middle School
With over 20 years of experience in education, Tim utilizes his diverse background to help guide students throughout their academic journey as well as the educational direction of the award-winning Ehrman Crest Elementary/Middle School, and 5th and 6th grade middle school within in the Seneca Valley School District, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ehrman Crest is the result of a successful building project that united the Seneca Valley School District and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in a planned effort to advance bold new opportunities for school design. Coming on board right after the onset of the planning process for the building project began, Tim collaborated with staff, administrators, stakeholders, and architects through nearly the entire duration of the Ehrman Crest project. From the feasibility study and design plans to partnerships and the groundbreaking ceremony, Tim played a vital role in bringing the project to fruition. Ehrman Crest models exciting new ideas around how corridors and walls are used; how the building and surrounding natural environment can be teaching tools; how adaptability allows for constant curation of physical learning spaces; and how space can take students on learning journeys. Needless to say, Tim was incredibly proud that Ehrman Crest was recognized by TIME as one of the Best Inventions of 2022, and he is excited to showcase the compelling learning spaces within the building.
